Road Construction

Rajasthan was one of the pioneering States in the country to execute road development projects on BOT basis.

Rajasthan State Highways Bill, 2014 bill seeks to provide for a network of modern and safe highways across the State. Over the next five years, the State Government plans to build 20,000 km of State Highways through Public Private Partnership. This is by far the most ambitious Highway Programme taken up by any State.

A new State Highway Authority is being constituted to initiate this programme in a time-bound manner. The Authority will have comprehensive functions and powers to build and operate State Highways.
